The Players Gallery Guitar Exhibit

Walking through a timeline of sound.
As the audience walks around the exhibit
they experience the different sounds of
each guitar. As they walk through each
sound they will be able to see how they
were played by a person playing the
instruments on a digital screen.
Two main guitars are within the sound
pods where sound is consistently played
throughout. These are mainly life changing
guitars within the timeline.

Othello Theater Design

The main design concpet within this project
is to have the emotion connect with the
audince. I have researched the play and
picked out the most significant emotions.
Within this i have connected a colour with
that emotion. This is then used as the
main lighting affect throughout the play.
This connects my audince with the
dramatised emotion throughout the play. It
also highlights the most significant scenes
through the use of emotion.

The other main design concept within this project is
that due to my layers of material for each of the scenes
being transparent,I have designed a projection of
cracking to apperar . Within the play everytime some
small detail of  betrayal is created or every decete that
is made a small crack begins to appear. This is through
the use of projection and as the play goes on and on the
cracking becomes larger and makes the scences harder
to see. It is a representation of the lies and decete as
well as Desdemonas world shattering before her.
Everytime a crack appears the use of a sound affect
will als come into affect. This enhances the idea and
by the end of the play the use of the cracking and
sound affects will create a sttaered atmosphere and
will end with this.

Kress Trade Show Project

For the beginning of this project I
first looked into the way power tools
are made. Through this I
found prints on how a power
tool is put together through
the engineering images. From
 this I abstracted different
areas of compartments
within a power tool.From this
I came up with a consistent shape of a
serpentine curve, therefore continued to
develop this to the point where I was happy
with my specific shape on the exhibition stand.

The concept of this idea is to take
the idea of the power tool.
In this design the shapes have been
extracted from the power tools themselves
as well as the shapes inside a power ool.
The shapes have then been abstracted and
used to build the outline of the design. The
idea is that the people are walking inside a
part of a power tool. The power tools are
on show constantly and people are able to
pick them up and interact with them. There
is a demonstartion desk to show how the
tools work as well as the people being able
to have a go themselves.

Milan Expo Project

For this project my starting point
was to create a natural environment.
Due to seed distribution mainly
being a natural process that Mother
Nature produces, I have decided to
create a natural naturist environment
for my audience to enter. Therefore
my first idea was to place a tree in the
middle of the room. This would be
the main feature to look at and
explore. I further developed this idea
and abstracted the tree. The reason
being it would be placed in the
middle of the area and would crowd
the space and images would not be
seen on the walls.

The Final concept of my design is to have a naturistic feel to the area
the people enter. The idea is to make people feel as though they are
part of mother nature. I have created a cylindrical room so my
audince are able to be in a panaramic room of images. As people walk
down the spiral they should feel as though they are the seed dropping
through the tree. The cylinder is also a representation of a tree trunk as
the leaves at the top represent the top of a tree.

Expo Exhibit

This design focuses on the serpentine curve. Using this within the exhibition enhances the sophistication of environmental; problems and allows the design to create an easy surrounding atmosphere. The layout enables the curves to contain graphics on both sides. As this design was made to bring together recent expo’s that contained the pressures of environmental sustainability, it allows the space for four different expos. Therefore chosen within this design were Zaragoza, London, Japan and Hanover. This design contains simple graphics that have within them a 3D element; where there are images within the design it is actually Images that are 3D graphics.
